Reseal Windows, Vents, and Seams Carefully


The RV’s roof isn’t the only place leaks and heat transfer happen. That’s why summer is a great time to walk the RV’s perimeter and inspect windows, baggage doors, seams, exterior lights, refrigerator vents, and cable inlets. Do not assume a random tube of household silicone caulk from the hardware store is the right fix. Dry Heat Can Damage RV Cabinets, Wallpaper, and Trim
Summer heat doesn’t just damage the exterior. In a dry climate, the interior wood, veneers, wallpaper, and adhesives can react to the lack of humidity, especially if the RV is not in use for an extended period of time. When the air gets too dry, wood shrinks. You might start seeing wallpaper seams lifting, cabinet doors falling out of alignment, veneer edges curling, or trim pulling away from the walls.

If you take your RV to the beach, make it a habit to give the undercarriage a thorough fresh-water rinse before heading home. Pay special attention to:
