ELKHART, IN — Forest River’s newest engineering feat — the Mesquite fifth wheel — is specifically built to handle hotter climates, like those found in the Southern US. Thanks to their heavy-duty construction and proprietary thermal defense system, these entry-level luxury fifth wheels maintain a true comfort zone when outside temperatures soar.
Engineered for Thermal Efficiency

The Mesquite lineup delivers improved thermal efficiency through four primary construction pillars:
Maximum Insulation: Every fifth wheel features 3″ thick vacuum-bonded sidewalls to provide a superior thermal barrier — 50% thicker than the industry-standard 2″ sidewall.
Massive Cooling Power: Comfort is maintained by a high-capacity system with three standard 18,000-BTU Furrion® Chill Cube air conditioners. The Chill Cubes feature soft-start technology, drawing approximately 11,000 watts at startup, meaning two units can run simultaneously even on 30-amp service, and all three can run on 50-amp service.
Elite Window Technology: In partnership with Lippert®, the Mesquite features dual-pane, argon-filled windows with Low-E coatings that block up to 95% of harmful UV rays. The advanced glass construction delivers 30-50% energy savings while significantly dampening outside noise and preventing condensation and fogging during rapid temperature shifts. Compared to standard single-pane windows, they deliver roughly 3.5x the R-value.
Optimized Airflow: The Mesquite’s duct system features thermoplastic duct joiners to prevent collapse and maintain consistent airflow, combined with a plenum inside each vent register that delivers up to 60% more effective air distribution.

The Mesquite isn’t just about beating the heat. It uniquely offers upscale, wide-open living — and at an affordable entry point. The lineup is built on a 101” wide-body chassis with 7’ slide-out heights, creating an expansive interior in which Forest River has designed three unique floorplans
Key features include:
Premium Interiors: The interiors feature residential-style finishes throughout, including solid surface countertops, undermounted sinks with pull-down sprayers, full-extension drawer guides with 50-pound weight ratings, and convection microwave ovens. Cabinetry extends to the ceiling for maximum storage.
Heavy-Duty Foundation: Engineered for reliability with a 12” Monster Beam frame with oversized outriggers, Lippert® 7K axles, a 6-point electric auto-leveling system, and premium G-rated 14-ply tires with tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) and anti-lock brakes (ABS).
Safety & Visibility: Every Mesquite is prepped for the Furrion® Side Vision camera system, plus backup camera prep, to give drivers maximum visibility.
Total Shade: Dual power awnings provide 33 total feet of exterior shade coverage, with LED lighting integrated into both.
Outdoor Living Ready: An exterior LP quick connect makes camp cooking simple, while a lockable external command center, black tank flush, and an external hot/cold shower keep campsite management convenient and clean.
Available Floor Plans
The Mesquite launches with three distinct floor plans: a rear kitchen, 1.5-bath (3850HBRK), a dual bunk room, 1.5-bath (3835TRIP), and a mid-living, rear kitchen (3130ML). From couples seeking luxury appointments to families who need bunk room versatility, the Mesquite’s unique layouts have something for everyone.
All floor plans share the same core construction standards: 3″ vacuum-bonded sidewalls, argon-filled dual-pane windows, three 18K BTU air conditioners, 101″ wide-body chassis, 6-point auto-leveling, and ABS/TPMS-equipped G-rated tires.
The Mesquite lineup has begun arriving on dealer lots, with the 3850HBRK soon to be followed by the other unique layouts.
