There’s a new Italian hypercar on the market, and it’s powered by a Koenigsegg engine. It’s called the Kimera K39, and it comes from the same company that built the Evo 37 and Evo 38 restomods.
The K39, though, is a brand-new car, built from the ground up. It is based on a bespoke carbon-fibre monocoque. The exterior design is heavily inspired by Lancia’s Group B rally car, but there’s also a hint of the Ferrari F40. In fact, it even has pop-up headlights. The car has heavily flared wheel arches, with massive intakes on the rear fenders.
The rear end of the K39 is reminiscent of the F40. Everything from the fixed rear wing, the fenders with four vertical slats and the flat rear fascia looks so F40.
Underneath the bodywork is a rear-mid-mounted 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the Koenigsegg Jesko. However, it has been tuned specifically for this car and features smaller turbochargers and different intakes and exhaust.
The K39’s engine produces 1000 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque and comes with a 7-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a sequential paddle shift being offered as an option.
The Kimera K39 is likely to be produced in limited numbers. The exact figure hasn’t been disclosed. Order books are now open and the first cars are expected to be delivered in 2027.
