It’s not just the luxury or the status symbol of the Rolls-Royce Phantom that attracts buyers; it’s also the level of comfort and tech this opulent saloon has to offer. Here is a video on Instagram that shows how this car tackles a speed bump like it’s not even there.

We can see that a Rolls-Royce Phantom is driven over a speed bump at different speeds – 17 kmph and 90 kmph – and how its Planar suspension is working to keep the vertical movement of the car to a minimum.

The Rolls-Royce just glides over the speed bump without losing composure, thanks to its sophisticated combination of tech – self-levelling air suspension, adaptive damping, hydraulic roll-control and predictive road scanning, which work in unison to provide the ‘magic carpet’ like ride quality.

The current-gen Rolls-Royce Phantom is powered by a 6.75L twin-turbo V12 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It gives this 4-door saloon 563 hp and 900 Nm. As a result, the 2.5 ton car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and flat out will touch 250 kmph.
