The UK government has also announced a consultation on plans to phase out internal combustion engine-powered truck sales by 2040. By Stewart Burnett
The UK government has announced an additional £18m (US$24.2m) in funding for the Plug-in Truck Grant, extending the scheme until March 2026 and increasing maximum discounts to £120,000 for the biggest electric trucks. The funding forms part of a £318m green freight investment aimed at reducing upfront vehicle costs, supporting the freight sector’s transition away from the internal combustion engine.
Under the revised system, UK grants now offer savings of £20,000 for trucks between 4.25 and 12 tonnes, £60,000 for mid-sized vehicles from 12 to 18 tonnes, £80,000 for larger lorries spanning 18 to 26 tonnes, and £120,000 for the heaviest category exceeding 26 tonnes. The subsidy operates through dealers and truckmakers who claim the grant and deduct the discount from sticker prices at the point of sale, effectively eliminating the need for operators themselves to file paperwork.
Companies including Amazon and Marks & Spencer have already deployed electric delivery trucks supported by government programmes. Amazon UK boss John Boumphrey confirmed that Britain will host the largest concentration of electric heavy goods trucks within the company’s global transportation network, in no small part due to local incentives.
Still, cost is not the only barrier to e-truck adoption. Limited charging infrastructure and associated grid capacity limits, as well as connection costs and planning delays all continue to limit the feasibility of electrification for many hauliers. Industry surveys have persistently indicated low confidence in both public charging availability and depot installation capabilities, despite e-trucks typically offering lower daily running costs than their diesel-powered counterparts.
In a statement, Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation Keir Mather said: “We’re backing British businesses to go green by making electric lorries more affordable, helping hauliers to make the switch whilst turbocharging growth, investment and jobs in the sector. Our proposals will provide the certainty the industry has been calling for so that Britain becomes the best place for green investment.”
The government also announced it will launch consultation on a regulatory roadmap to phase out sales of new non-zero emission HGVs by 2040. As it stands, 100% adoption is a long way off: only approximately 2% of new HGVs sold in the UK are currently battery-electric.
If you live in cities where luxury or exotic cars are often seen on the road, most probably, you always end up thinking about how these people can drive such expensive exotic cars without going bankrupt but not you. Well, my friend, you can drive a luxury or exotic car of your dream too. These high-end luxury cars cost a lot of money to purchase and above all that, they need to be maintained well which cost a lot of money again. Then, comes insurance and to insure a luxury or exotic car will cost you way more money than a regular car. But how can you drive one of these then? The answer is simple: Rent the luxury or exotic car of your dream.
A business only grows when its product or service is being appreciated by many and they are good value for money. That is the case for the car rental industry. This industry is growing bigger day by day, especially the luxury or exotic car rental is growing at a very fast pace. More and more people are renting luxury or exotic cars now instead of buying it. In fact, many kinds of research have come to the conclusion that renting an expensive car is much more beneficial to your bank balance. This is why even those having the money and can afford a luxury or exotic car prefer to rent it.
Cars, especially luxury or exotic cars tend to depreciate rapidly in most cases. When you are buying one of these cars, you are either paying a big down payment then high monthly instalments or you are just financing the car completely, meaning that you are spending a huge amount of money at one go. Not to forget the expensive insurance costs and the other maintenance and servicing costs that comes along. People who can afford these cars are usually very busy with their work and other things that they barely have time to drive it. So, these cars are left in the garage for long period of time. It is only during the weekends or holidays that the owner has the time to enjoy his exotic car. When we take a good look at this situation, we see that the person buying the exotic car is at loss. Firstly, he has to pay for insurance when the car is just sitting in the garage. Secondly, he has to pay for maintenance, every six months usually and they are quite expensive. Thirdly, when he finally decides to sell the car, it will be worth much less than what he has bought it for. That is a huge loss for the owner and if he repeats the same thing three or four times more, he might end up broke.
This is why more and more people nowadays are renting luxury or exotic cars. In doing so, you are sure that you will not end up broke and you can still have fun. There are various advantages that you get when you rent a luxury or exotic car. Let’s take a look at some:
1. The luxury or exotic car rental will make you feel like you are someone special
Exotic car rentals will always make you feel like you are someone special. They value their customers and they will always strive to give you the best always. They will literally perfect their service for you, just so that you can have an enjoyable moment with the car.
2. Exotic car rental makes you feel confident
Exotic cars are very expensive and they need to be driven with a lot of care. A small damage can cost a lot to repair. Exotic car rental makes you feel confident about yourself in the way that they are happily giving you their high-end luxury car to drive.
3. Exotic car rental makes your vacation more fun
This one is for sure. Who will not have fun in an exotic car? Driving around Las Vegas in a sports car not only gets you attention (a lot of attention) but also, you feel happier and on an overall, your vacation is more fun compared to if you have rented a cheap boring car.
4. Luxury or exotic rental cars decrease your stress of driving
Each time you step into an exotic car, there is something that will amaze you. Driving an exotic car, especially for long trips, will decrease your stress of driving with its luxury and performance. Every time, you hit the gas, the car will bring you into another world. The feeling that you get in an exotic car cannot be expressed in words, you need to experience it for yourself.
5. Every day becomes an adventure with an exotic car
This one needs no explanation.
Why is it better to rent a luxury or exotic car?
People prefer to rent an exotic car mainly because it costs a lot less than buying the car. They will hire the car only when they know they are going to use it. It is not expensive to rent an exotic car and any average person can easily afford it. Also, another great advantage you get when you rent an exotic car, you should not worry about insurance cost. The exotic car rental takes care of the insurance and maintenance cost. You simply have no worry, whenever you want to drive a fast luxury car, just go to a car rental or give them a call, and voila, your exotic car ready to make you happy.
Another big advantage you will have over those buying exotic cars is the fact that you will be able to follow the exotic car trend. That is, each time you are renting an exotic car, you can choose something different and also, you can drive the latest exotic car compared to the one who bought an exotic car. This is good in terms of you will never get bored of driving the same car over and over again.
Then comes depreciation. As you know, most of the exotic cars depreciate in value (some very fast while others quite slowly), being an exotic car owner, you will be always worried about this fact. But when renting an exotic car, you need not care about all these things. You are literally paying only a rather small amount of money and you are enjoying all the advantages a luxury or exotic car has to give. Renting an exotic car makes life much easier.
NOTE: You need to make sure that you are renting an exotic car from a trusted and reliable car rental. You also need to make sure that they are not overpricing the car or they are adding hidden cost. There are a lot of good and reliable exotic car rental there on the market, but one that caught my attention is 777 Exotics.

INDIV is located in Korea and manufacture pre-preg carbon with an autoclave. We are relatively a new company that has just entered our fourth year of operation, but we have been successful in our business by making interior and engine room parts.
Today, I would like to introduce our new product; the INDIV G87 M2 CARBON Double Slat Grill. This is our SECOND exterior part after producing many parts for the interior and engine room.
Our carbon products do not deform or discolor easily even under high heat conditions in the engine room and have proven their highest quality to many customers.
Based on this, we now want to grow further through the development and move on to produce the external parts.
We thought the M2 grille had a very unimpressive grille compared to the very dynamic lower inlet area.
So we developed a more aggressive design with a DOUBLE SLAT GRILLE that shares the same name as the BMW M2.
The existing grille, which was located deep inside the bumper, was protruded to complete the front appearance of the M2 that I had imagined.
And we can proudly say that the fit of our INDIV products is more perfect than any other products in the current market.
With our DOUBLE SLAT GRILL , the M2 will have a better-looking three-dimensional bumper appearance. And any front lip products to be installed will give a much more fitted look.
Product Details:
Includes placement for OE M2 grille emblem
Pre-preg Autoclave Carbon
Same carbon quality with OEM
Same carbon size, direction, and pattern with OEM
Need to remove BUMPER to INSTALL
LCI Grille emblem does not fit.

The GVWR represents the maximum weight the RV can safely carry, including passengers, fuel, water, and cargo. This weight range depends on factors like the RV’s build, chassis, and features.
Can You Live Full Time in a Class C RV?
Class C RVs can certainly function as permanent living spaces. While smaller Class C RVs prioritize compact size and maneuverability, they still include all the essentials for full-time living, such as sleeping areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and storage.
Models like the East to West College Avenue 2201S stand out for their durable construction with features like automotive-grade partial paint, while the Thor Coleman 22EZF offers exceptional capacity with its MEGA-Storage™ compartment. Additionally, the Thor Eddie Bauer 21EBF caters to outdoor enthusiasts who want luxury finishes, offering premium Eddie Bauer décor combined with rugged, adventure-ready features like an upgraded suspension system.
Key considerations for full-time living include:
Storage Capacity: Look for pass through exterior storage or clever interior cabinetry for long-term gear and essentials.
Sleeping Arrangements: Ensure the layout comfortably fits your needs (queen beds, convertible dinettes, and cabover bunks).
Amenities: Compact Class C RVs still offer kitchens with cooktops, microwaves, and refrigerators, as well as bathrooms with showers.
Build Quality: Models with durable materials and reliable chassis, such as the Ford E-Series, can handle the demands of full-time travel.
While space may be tighter than in larger RVs, Class C models under 25 feet excel in drivability and flexibility, making full-time living possible with a careful eye on storage.

It’s been… a minute since I’ve made any sort of update to this site. Apologies are redundant at this point really as it’s been a few years since I’ve really been able to give this property my full attention.
But don’t for a second think that means I have not been paying attention to the Ontario Car scene.
I’ve just been busy. However, I will always, always make time for friends.
Especially friends who put their whole foot in a build like Keith, Brian, and Riley at Binbrook Speed & Custom.
At Motorama 2023 they debuted the 1927 five-window Chevrolet proudly in the front hall.
That’s right, this is a Chevrolet 5 window, not a Ford. Binbrook took a standard 3 window Chevrolet and converted it into something much cooler.
While they were at it they chopped the roof, added louvres and had it painted a beautiful heavy gold flake.
I’m skimming over the modifications to the car here a little, simply because one day I want to be able to shoot it outside and really capture just how awesome it is.
Maybe even alongside the Binbrook Coupe.
This includes taking several photos of the Edelbrock Intake manifold-topped Hemi motor. That intake is actually an extremely rare prototype unit.
So, until I get a chance to really sink my teeth into this car enjoy these photos from the show.
Or, if you want to read more about the car, check out the mini spotlight in my recent article on Speedhunters. The majority of my Motorama 2023 coverage is there or on Instagram.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Donald Trump are back in each other’s good graces, and after a lengthy period where the two were at odds, the pair seemed to make up back in September.
The two were spotted at dinner at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach over the weekend, which was followed by a press conference on Air Force One, where the President called Musk, “great.”
He continued:
“He’s 80% super genius and 20% he makes mistakes, but he’s a good guy. He’s a well-meaning person.”
Musk previously had a position in Trump’s White House, as he was in charge of reducing government spending and waste by leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk stepped back from his role in the government last year to focus on Tesla and SpaceX, as well as other projects.

However, Musk, back in Trump’s good graces, stands to get some assistance for Tesla from the White House moving forward, especially as he and the President are back to being friends and allies.
Reduced Scrutiny from a Regulatory Standpoint
Tesla has been the subject of several National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) probes, including ones that dive into Autopilot and Full Self-Driving and incidents involving the two.
Trump has already initiated a more relaxed environment for autonomous vehicle oversight. Last January, he proposed a voluntary framework system for self-driving vehicles, which reduced barriers for companies involved with autonomy.
In April, he relaxed crash reporting and exemptions for autonomous vehicles, creating a clearer pathway for companies to innovate and easing compliance burdens.
In September, Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy led efforts to update FMVSS, eliminating redundant human-driver requirements. This aimed to create a single national standard, boosting deployment and eliminating much of the bureaucracy that stalls innovation.
Favorable Autonomous Vehicle Framework
Some of the moves that were mentioned previously will assist Tesla in rolling out its Robotaxi network across the country, and although it currently has to go through the process on a state-level, things could become easier for Tesla and other companies exploring self-driving vehicles.
Musk could have a direct line to Trump that would help create fewer regulatory barriers for the companies involved in developing autonomous vehicles, which would directly benefit Tesla, but also its competitors like Waymo.
Protection from International Competition via Trade Policies
It is no secret that the President is focused on domesticating manufacturing, AI efforts, and everything in between. This is enforced by the tariffs the White House enforced last year, which have prioritized U.S.-based companies.
This could shield Tesla from potential foreign competitors, especially ones like BYD, which have been formidable opponents.
Overall, these gains stem from a more aligned political environment, where Musk’s influence could prioritize deregulation over enforcement; this leads to more innovation and relaxed regulations, but there are some risks. However, outcomes are dependent on the depth of President Trump and Musk’s reconciliation.
Long-term benefits to Tesla would require concrete policy actions.

When I dreamed of traveling, I always pictured airplanes and trains. But once we hopped in an RV for my honeymoon, my mind was opened to a whole new world of travel. We fell in love with the freedom and flexibility that a home on wheels allows and decided that was how we would see the world.
We’ve now RVed in ELEVEN countries around the world!

New Zealand is arguably the most campervan-friendly country in the world (in my experience France is a close second).
But what do you do when the weather turns wet?
Camping in the rain is less than no fun. It’s dirty, and messy, and often means being cramped inside what is suddenly a really small rig.
And as nice as our Wilderness Motorhome rental is, you don’t want to be stuck inside all day in a rain storm. Which is exactly what the 10-day forecast was predicting. Ten straight days of rain! 😱
So we decided to leave ✌️
This is the beauty of RVing over other forms of travel. With no reservations and a full tank of gas, you can go anywhere! Including hopping on a ferry to a new island.
The Interislander Ferry
Whether you’re escaping bad weather or just want to visit both of New Zealand’s major islands, the only way to cross the Cook Strait in an RV is on a ferry. We’ve done this twice and used the Interislander ferry both times.
Why choose Interislander Ferries?
Interislander partners with Top 10, a chain of holiday parks all over New Zealand. If you buy a Top 10 membership (which costs $55 NZD), you get discounts on your stays at their holiday parks. We always end up staying at a handful of their holiday parks, making the two-year membership a decent value. They have locations in every major tourist area and are good quality, making it easy to plan a tour across New Zealand where you stay at Top 10s every night!
In addition to the stay discounts, you also get a discount on your ferry bookings. This saved us over $75 NZD on our booking! Even if we didn’t use the other membership benefits, the membership pays for itself in savings on the ferry fees.
How to Buy a Top 10 Membership
You can buy a Top 10 membership at any of their holiday parks. You’ll pay the signup fee and get your membership card. I forgot to get our membership while at the holiday park, so I signed up online. This was a straightforward process that I could complete on my phone.
When finished, you’re given your membership number and your membership expiration date. You’ll get your membership barcode when you get your card, which can picked up at a holiday park or mailed to you. (If you’re not a Kiwi, don’t opt to have the card mailed to you!)
Even without a physical card in hand, I was able to book our ferry tickets with the discount and board the ferry.
Boarding the Interislander Ferry in a Motorhome
When you arrive at the ferry terminal, you’ll check in at a kiosk and be told which lane to proceed in. You’ll also be given a placard with motorhome-specific instructions and reminded to turn off your propane tank. Plan to arrive at least an hour before your ferry’s scheduled departure time.
While you wait in your lane, be sure to turn off your engine. We typically use the wait time to cook a meal, clean the rig, or get out to stretch our legs. During this last visit, our kids used the wait time to take naps.
The wait can be a bit boring, but once they start directing cars onto the ferry, you board quickly. We were one of the last vehicles on the ferry (after being one of the first to arrive). Someone reminded us to apply our hand brake and turn off the propane and we followed foot traffic to a staircase. The stairs led us up to the main floor of the ferry where we would find lounges, shops, and restaurants.
Riding a Ferry with Kids
We worried a little about how well the kids would do on a three-hour boat journey. But once we made it to the top of the staircase, we saw a slide! There was a small playground on the ship, a TV playing kids’ shows on a loop, and some small games and books. We played, grabbed dinner, and played some more. Before we knew it, it was dark outside and we had arrived at the south island!
Avoiding the Rain
Heading south for our last week of adventures made sure that we avoided the rain and Wilderness graciously let us change our return location from Auckland to Christchurch. (Thank you guys!)
Rain can wreck a vacation, but with our RV, we just drove around it! 🙂

The Spanish government is going down the route a bit that President Biden and Democrats went down. It is subsidizing the manufacturing of various renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, to the tune of €355 million.
“The new call for funding proposals is inviting equipment makers from the following categories to participate: solar, onshore wind and marine renewables, batteries and energy storage solutions, heat pumps and geothermal energy, hydrogen (including electrolysers and fuel cells), sustainable biogas and biomethane, power grids, hydropower turbines, other renewables (including osmotic energy, biomass, landfill gas or sewage gas treatment), energy efficiency, and equipment and machines for industrial decarbonisation (electric arc furnaces, hydrogen-ready direct reduction of iron, industrial boilers). The aid may cover the establishment of new factories, capacity expansions and conversion of existing production lines to manufacture the components,” Renewables Now reports.
Funding is provided via the RENOVAL 2 program, which is managed by the Spanish Ministry of Ecological Transition’s Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE). “The scheme is funded through the European Union’s NextGenerationEU recovery funds under Spain’s recovery and resilience plan.”
Submissions are being accepted from January 22 to February 25.
Spain already has a strong manufacturing base. It manufactures almost all of the components of a wind farm, as well as the majority of solar PV installations.

The BMW E92 M3 is a car I know intimately. I have driven it flat-out at Laguna Seca, leaned on it at Road America, lived with it day to day, and even pointed it down the highway for long road trips. It was once a familiar benchmark. But I had not been behind the wheel in nearly 15 years. In that time, BMW M has moved decisively into the world of turbocharging, automatic gearboxes, and all-wheel drive. Returning to the E92 now, with that modern context burned into muscle memory, was not just a nostalgia exercise. It was a recalibration. And what it revealed says as much about where M has been as where it is going.
Unlike modern M cars, the E92 does not flatter. The lack of immediate torque, long-throw manual, and its notchy action make 0-60 runs a methodical exercise. But we’re in a post-speed world these days with 1000 hp electric SUVs and the like. The reason the E92 is more special today than when it was released is that it communicates. Through your fingertips. Through the seat. Through a steering wheel that feels alive in your hands, not filtered through software, sensors, or code. And most importantly, through that wonderful soundtrack.
This is a car built in the last moment before the digital tide fully rolled in.
At its heart sits the S65. A 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8. No turbos. No tricks. Just eight individual throttle bodies breathing in perfect sync. 414 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and a cold-start sound that will raise the hair on your back of your neck while it wakes the neighbors.
You do not drive this engine at low revs. Like the S50 in the E36 M3 and the S54 in the E46 M3, power builds cleanly, relentlessly, with a rising mechanical howl that hardens as the tach sweeps clockwise. But crucially it does so with two more cylinders than those cars offered. This gives the E92 an exotic combination of low rumble with a hint of mid-range shriek atone 5,000. Past 7,500 it feels electric, feral, urgent. Running through the gears and up the rev-range feels like an event. I did this time and time again and mostly had no idea how fast I was going because I was so focused on the feedback on all levels.
And then there is the steering.
Hydraulic. Unfiltered. Honest. I remember when I drove it back to back with the F82 M4 at its North American launch in 2014. It difference even at 10 mph was shocking. Today driving the G82 with its lighter steering, it’s even more so.
Every camber change, every ripple in the pavement, every ounce of front-end grip is transmitted directly into your palms. You do not guess what the tires are doing. You know. The wheel loads up naturally as you lean into a corner, lightens as grip begins to ebb, and speaks in a language that modern electric racks simply no longer use. And this is from a hydraulic system that wasn’t even considered great at the time.
The Competition Package that our test car was optioned with sharpens all of this. Lowered suspension. Revised EDC tuning. Stiffer springs. Thicker anti-roll bars. And those 19-inch Style 359M wheels that somehow look perfect from every angle. The car feels keyed-in, alert, balanced. The ride is little harsh but not brittle or bothered over broken pavement. Just focused.
On a back roads, the E92 M3 feels organic in a way that is increasingly rare. The chassis breathes with the road. The throttle responds instantly. The brake pedal is firm and linear. You are not managing modes or calibrations with the E92 like you are with the current generation of M cars. There are no computational layers in the way of feedback.
The modern G82 M4 is objectively quicker in every measurable way. More power. More torque. More grip. More tech. It deploys performance through layers of software, adaptive systems, configurable personalities. It is devastatingly capable and an exceptional car. Maybe it’s even an exceptional M car.
But it is also interpretive in the way it reacts.
The E92 does not interpret. It simply responds to your inputs.
There is no artificial engine sound. No programmed torque plateau. No steering algorithm smoothing out your mistakes. The car rewards precision and punishes indifference. It asks something of you, and in return it gives you everything.
This is why the E92 M3 Competition Package feels less like a computer and more like a sports car. Not because it is slower or simpler, but because it is more human. It requires engagement. Attention. Respect.
It is a car you listen to. A car you learn. A car that teaches you.
And when the road opens, the engine singing at full voice, the steering alive in your hands, the chassis perfectly balanced beneath you, there is a moment of clarity. A moment where the noise of the modern world fades and all that remains is the connection between driver, machine, and asphalt.
The E92 M3 is a flawed car. When it was launched, plenty in the press had mixed feelings about its V8, growth in size, and extra weight over its predecessor. But with the benefit of time, the E92 has become an improbable classic.
